Concept

The organizing committee of Evolutionary Multi-Criterion Optimization 2007 (EMO-2007) is currently seeking several candidates for grants to attend the EMO-2007 being held at Hotel Taikanso, Matsushima, Japan, March 5 to 8, 2007. Through the granting of these awards, the organizing committee desires to encourage students, who are interested in EMO and will be major players in the field of EMO, to attend this conference.

SCOPE OF AWARD:

All recipients are expected to be an author/co-author of an accepted paper by EMO-2007 (his/her contribution should be, at least, 50%) and to present the paper in EMO-2007. Each recipient will receive 50,000 Japanese Yen (about 500 US Dollar) at the conference banquet.

ELIGIBILITY:

These awards are open to qualified students who are living outside of Japan, an author/co-author of an accepted paper, actually attending to EMO-2007 and presenting the paper in an oral/poster session. Applicants must be full-time students at the time of application. All recipients are requested to receive the grant by himself/herself at the conference banquet. The substitute for a recipient is not permitted.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

The following materials are required to be submitted:
  1. Information of an applicant (Name, Affiliation, Country of resident, E-mail address and Tel.)
  2. Copy of the applicant s accepted paper.
  3. Letter from his/her adviser qualifying him as a full-time student, and describing the rate of contribution to the accepted paper. The handwritten signature of the adviser is requested.
Completed materials should be posted to Tatsuya Okabe. After receiving the materials, confirmation will be sent back by Tatsuya Okabe.

APPLICATION DEADLINE:

Completed materials must be delivered to Tatsuya Okabe by December 17, 2006. The confirmation of the receipt will be sent to all applicant by December 21, 2006. If you receive no confirmation by this date, please send an E-mail to Tatsuya Okabe and Kaname Narukawa as soon as possible. Applications delivered after this date will not be considered. Applicants should consider the duration of post to Japan.

AWARD NOTIFICATION:

The award recipients will be notified by E-mail by December 25, 2006. The recipients will be selected by the committee of EMO-2007 based on the above materials and review scores.
